Unilateral Pedicle Screw System Fixation For The Treatment Of Far Lateral Lumbar Disc Herniation Observed

Objective: The extreme lateral disc herniation, conservative treatment fails, the linediscectomy and fusion (or fusion cage) unilateral pedicle screw fixation for the treatment,observation and treatment results.Methods: From September2009to September201020patients were treated withcomplete clinical data of extreme lateral lumbar disc herniation were retrospectivelyanalyzed,11males and9females; aged37-71years, mean42.5years; review of relevantliterature, summarizes the clinical and imaging findings, preoperative and postoperativeVAS score, JOA score compared and analyzed statistically.Results:20patients were followed up by3,6,12,18months, VAS score improvedfrom the8.85±0.993, reduced to postoperative0.90±0.718, JOA score improved from10.03±2.452to rise before the postoperative25.20±2.726.Conclusion: Unilateral pedicle screw fixation, decompression and fusion surgeryform a triangular three-dimensional support, constitutes a strong three-dimensionaltriangular fixed. The method is minimally invasive, low cost, good effect, is an effectivemethod of treatment.
