Objective:To investigate the preliminary clinical outcome of total knee arthroplastywith the high-flexion posterior stabilized total knee system (NexGen High LPS-Flexsystem).Methods:35patients (41knees) underwent primary total knee arthroplasty withNexGen High LPS-Flex prosthesis, all patients were treated without patellar replacement.Out of35cases(41knees),30cases(35knees) had been followed up for average (9.34±4.41)months(3—18months).Clinical results were evaluated preoperatively and postoperativelyusing HSS scoring system, and the ranges of motion were measured. Results:The ranges ofmotion of their knees were average93.14±19.25degrees preoperatively, and average124.70±10.64degrees postoperatively. The mean value of the scores according to HSS wasaverage54.51±12.19preoperatively,and average90.63±3.60postoperatively.Accordingto HSS,the results were excellent in33cases,good in2,and the excellent rate was94.29%.Deep vein thrombosis occurred in2cases after operation, wound delayed healing in2cases,fat liquefaction in1case.Knee joint infection occurred in1case1year afteroperation, then he underwent knee arthrodesis after the failure of conservativetreatment, and he was cured. All the X-ray films of the knees implanted were analyzed. Nomal-alignment or lucent line with the prosthesis was seen in all these X-rayfilms.Conclusions:The preliminary clinical outcome of total knee arthroplasty with thehigh-flexion posterior stabilized total knee system(NexGen High LPS-Flex system) issatisfactory, while long term follow-up is needed....
