A Retrospective Clinical Analysis For Ophthalmic Blood

Objective: This study was a retrospective clinical analysis of diabetic retinopathy,retinal vein occlusion, exudative age-related macular degeneration and other commonophthalmic blood, and explore the TCM syndrome characteristics and drug distribution ofthe ophthalmic blood. Materials and Methods: This study had collected213cases ofophthalmic blood from affiliated hospital of Shandong University of Traditional ChineseMedicine, since January2007to January2012, including109cases of diabetic retinopathy,60cases of retinal vein occlusion and44cases of exudative age-related maculardegeneration.All the original data was recorded in the Excel and analyzed with SPSS17.0to explore the TCM syndrome characteristics and drug distribution of the ophthalmic blood.Results: The most common diseases in the ophthalmic blood collected is diabeticretinopathy, retinal vein occlusion and exudative age-related macular degeneration.Diabetic retinopathy is mainly in the Qi and Yin deficiency,using qi and yin, nourish liverand kidney,yin and yang double up to govern the nature,and meridians eyesight, bloodstasis, phlegm to treat the symptoms.Retinal vein occlusion is mainly in the bloodstasis,treatment focuses on conditioning the air and blood circulation.The mainpathogenesis of exudative age-related macular degeneration is liver and kidney deficiency,treatment focuses on nourishing the liver and kidney.Angelica, habitat, red peony, licorice,astragalus, Chuanxiong, safflower, Poria, peach, plantain seed are the most common drugs.Tonic medicine, antipyretic, blood circulation drugs are the most drug classification.Thesweet taste, bitter and pungent drugs are often used in the Ophthalmic Blood.The drugsused in Ophthalmic Blood mostly pass through liver.Judging from the efficacy ofprognosis,there is on significant difference between diabetic retinopathy, retinal veinocclusion and exudative age-related macular degeneration.Efficacy is no significantdifference between the disease commonly found in the same card type. Conclusion:Traditional chinese medicine treat fundus hemorrhage should distinguishmajor and minor and take measure by stoping bleeding and promoting circulation ofblood.Though we should on the base of stoping bleeding,it is not stop bleeding simply.weshould have the idea of the concept of wholism and selection of treatment according todifferential diagnosis.Danggui,shengdi,huangqi,taoren and honghua are all traditionalmedicine that can enrich the blood,removing heat from blood and promote blood flow byremoving blood stasis. That we can find regular patterns when we remedy fundushemorrhage not only provides helpful reference how we select the medicine but alsoproves the theory that" the liver stores blood "and "it can be seen as the liver get blood".
