Objective: To observe the clinical effection of treating the stagnation of qi and bloodstasis Primary Dysmenorrhea with the Shu Gan Zhi Tong (SGZT) Decoction and explorethe function mechanism of it. Methods:78patients were divided into three groupsrandomly:the treatment groupⅠ(26cases,treated with SGZT for three months, seven daysby the former from the oral),the treatment groupⅡ(26cases,treated with SGZT for threemonths, fourteen days by the former from the oral) and the control group(26cases,treatedwith Dan Er Fu Kang DFE for three months).The changes of clinical symptoms and signs,uterine artery blood flow and the blood rheology were observed before and after treatment.Result: The improvement of syndrome of the two treatment groups were significantlyabove the control group. there was no notable difference in the total curative effectbetween treatment groupⅠand the treatment groupⅡ. After treatment, uterine arteryblood flow and the blood rheology was decreased significantly(P﹤0.05). Conclusions:SGZT Decoction is an effective recipe in treating Primary Dysmenorrhea, the effect can bereduce pelvic blood flow resistance, ameliorating the blood rheology. Long course ofmedication is better than a short course of treatment medication.
