Objective: Discussion on diagnosis of deep infection after total hip arthroplasty andmethod of two-stage revision.Elimination of clinical symptoms, improve joint function,ensuring the quality of life.Methods: This study from Shandong university of traditional chinese medicineaffiliated hospital joint orthopedic ward, collected11cases of deep infection after total hiparthroplasty from December2010to February2011. Included7males and4females, age51to72years old, on average,63years old, the left5cases, right6cases. All cases wereused the incision to take out the prosthesis, clean up lesions, exclusion and selectivetwo-stage revision for treatment methods. They were followed up when the three monthand one year after revision, used the Harris hip score criteria for scoring, and observe thecurative effect.Results: In11cases, three months after operation:excellent in4, good in3, fair in2,poor in2, excellent and good rate of63.6%;one year after operation: excellent in7, good in3, fair in1, poor in0, excellent and good rate of90.9%.Conclusion: Deep infection after total hip arthroplasty surgery is a difficult diagnosisand treatment, using two-stage revision, with easy control infection, timely elimination offoci of infection, high safety factor advantages, satisfied with the clinical curative effect.
