Objective:To investigate the function of Chromogranin A and IL-8in the pathogenesisof Chronic prostatitis.Method:76cases of post operative specimens of benign prostatic hyperplasia werecollected which all came from our hospital during the time of2008.10~2009.12,according to HE staining with or without focal infiltration of chronic inflammatory cellsinto43cases of chronic inflammatory group and33cases of non-inflammatory group,68.9士6.9and71.7士7.1years old respectively. And then call up the corresponding HEsections and paraffin blocks, review HE staining under an optical microscope. Theexpression of the CgA and IL-8in prostatic tissue was detected usingstreptavidin/peroxidase immunohistochemistry in tissue samples from76men withbenign prostatic hyperplasia, including43with and33without chronic inflammation.Result: There was7moderate and strong immunostaining of CgA express in theinflammatory prostatic tissue specimens and in13among the non-inflammatoryspecimens,There was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Therewas24moderate and strong immunostaining of IL-8express in the inflammatoryprostatic tissue specimens and in13among the non-inflammatoryspecimens,There wasno significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The expression of CgA andIL-8in patients with chronic prostatitis prostate tissue was not correlated(P>0.05).Conclusion: CgA expression was lower in prostatic epithelia with chronic inflammationthan the non-inflammatory groups. The alteration of CgA-positive Neuroendocrine cellmay play a role in one of the mechanisms of the chronic prostatitis....
