Background As a test indicator of total hip arthroplasty, Femoral offsethas played an important role on the efficiency of total hip arthroplastyand the life expectancy of Prosthesis. However, the general study of whichthe effective recovery of femoral offset after total hip arthroplastytaking the effect at the complications, such as Lower limb lengthinequality, pain, loosening, dislocation and the impact syndrome and soon, is not adequate. Objective To investigate the correlation between the femoral offset andthe complications of hip replacement surgery, the objective of this studywas to assess and understand the importance of femoral offset on hipreplacement surgery. Methods Comparing the femoral offset between healthy side and affected sideof patients with femoral neck fracture after hip arthroplasty,61caseswere followed up from June2009to July2011. According to the differenceof femoral offset between healthy side and affected side, group A(discrepancy>4mm) and group B (discrepancy<4mm) was divided. Results Group A of31patients: the complications of pain、dislocation、claudication and double leg lengths were4、0、2and6cases respectively.30patients of Group B: pain in1case, dislocation in0cases、doubleleg lengths in1case and0cases of claudication. Conclusions: there is a close relationship between the effectivereconstruction of femoral offset and complications after hip arthroplasty, A good recovery of femoral offset can significantly reduce thecomplications of hip surgery-related.
