Objective By using the content analysis of dream method to analysis the nightmare ofinpatients with neurosis,and to investigate the nightmare content characteristics ofinpatients with neurosis.Method According to the psychiatric diagnosis standard CCMD-3for neurosis,Collecting the hospitalized neurosis patients’ impressive nightmares and repeatednightmares,and who had been hospitalized in clinical psychology institute of AnhuiMedical University, unlimited number, then using the major categories of Hall Van deCastle’s system which is the nightmare content analysis,and coded each nightmare. Atlast, the nightmares will be entried Dreams SAT as a statistical analysis, andautomatically generated results. Comparing and analysising the results and the norms,the impressive nightmare and repeated nightmare, then summarizing the nightmarecontent characteristic of inpatients with neurosis.Results Totally collected82nightmares (50impressive nightmare;32repeatednightmares);Comparesoning all nightmares content of the male and female neurosisinpatients with the norms:"family members","dead&imaginary" were significantlyhigher than the same sex norms,"friends" percentage were significantly lower than thesame sex norms; the proportion of "female/male","animal" were higher than the samegender,the differences was significant about the characters,the proportion of“aggression/friendly”,” physical aggression” were higher than the norm,and thedifferences was significant.The percent of “self-negativity”,”negative emotions” werehigher than the norm,but the percent of “dreamer-involved success” was lower than the norm about social interaction,and the differences was significant. The percent of “indoorsetting percent” was lower than the norm,and the percent”familiar setting”of femaleneurosis inpatients was lower than the norm about the setting, the differences wassignificant. About the percent of “the dreams with at least one”,including”friendliness”,”sexuality””success”were lower the norm,but the percent of“misfortune”was higher than the norm, and the percent of “good fortune” about themale neurosis inpatients’nightmare content was lower the same gender,and thedifferences was significant.By comparing the content between the and repeated nightmares of neurosisinpatients, the percent of” male/female percent”,” dead&imaginary percent” werelower,but the percentage about “familiarity”,” friends”were higher than the repeatednightmares,and the percentage of” befriender”,” aggressor”were lower about socialinteraction, the differences was significant;the setting of impressive nightmares weremore familiarer,and the setting of the repeated nightmares were more unfamiliarer, nearlythe Proportion of indoor setting.The percentage of “self-negativity”,” bodily misfortunes”about impressive nightmares were lower than the repeated nightmares aboutself-concept,and the percent of “good fortune”was higher than the repeated nightmaresabout“dreams with at least one”,and the differences was significant,but the percent of“good fortune”,” misfortune” were lower than the repeated nightmares,the differencewas undifferentiated.Conclusion The hospitalized neurosis patients’ nightmares appear more death andimagination, animals, and contain more aggression character, self-negativity, misfortuneand negative emotional experience, on the contrary, less friend,success, friendlinessandsex,the setting of nightmares were more unfamiliar and outdoor;The hospitalizedneurosis patients’ impressive nightmares contained more family members, and friends,the repeated nightmares contained more male, dead and imaginary, aggression and physical aggression,more self-negativity, negative emotions and misfortune,the settingwere more outdoor and unfamiliar.
