Purpose To discuss pathogenic consequences and clinical significanceof MIP-1α、MMP-9in EPS of patients with category Ⅲ prostatitis.Methods Evaluated by enzyme linked immunosorbent assays forMIP-1α and MMP-9in chronic pelvic pain syndrome IIIA (15) and IIIB(20) and control (10). The analysis of the difference between groups int-test, the correlation of MIP-1alpha and MMP-9between chronicprostatitis pain symptom score and the WBC counts were analyzed bySpearman method.Results The lever of MIP-1α and MMP-9in category Ⅲa and Ⅲbprostatitis were significant higher than health group (P<0.01). There wereno significant difference between category Ⅲa and Ⅲb (p>0.05). The leverof MMP-9was positive correlation to the MIP-1α. MIP-1α and MMP-9levels correlated with the pain subscore of the chronic prostatitis symptom index. There were no correlation between MIP-1α,MMP-9leversand WBC count.Conclusion MIP-1alpha and MMP-9involved in the category Ⅲprostatitis events, and may related with the pain of chronic prostatitis.MIP-1alpha and MMP-9may be a markers for clinical diagnosis,classification, follow-up of the category Ⅲ prostatitis. Purpose: To investigate the effect of Procyanidin (PC) On theexpression of MIP-1α, MMP-9, SOD and MDA in rats with chronicabacterial prostatitis CAP, and learn the therapeutic effect of PC in the CAP.Methods: An animal model of chronic abacterial prostatitis in rats wasestablished and the animals were randomly divided into normal controlgroup, model control group, drug group: PC high dose(25mg/kg) and PClow dose group (10mg/kg). The animals were received the correspondingtreatment (i.p.). HE staining was used to observe the histopathologicalchange in prostate. The expressions of MMP-9and MIP-1α in prostatetissue were detected by Realtime PCR. The SOD activity and MDA levelwere measured. Results: The pathological results showed that the pathological change in CAP rats was improved after treating with PC. Thegene expressions of MMP-9and MIP-1α in CAP model control group werehigher than normal control group. Compared with model control group, thegene expressions of both MMP-9and MIP-1α were decreased in druggroups. All the twoe doses of PC all decreased the content of MDA inprostate tissue of CAP rats, and showed no significant effect on the activityof SOD in tissue. Conclusion: PC can decrease the gene expression ofMMP-9and MIP-1and regulate the level of MDA in prostate of CAP rats.These results show that PC may has potent effect on treating chronicabacterial prostatitis. It may involve a immune inflammation regulation andantioxidant effect.
