Objective:Our the acupuncture treatment of Tong Nao Huo Luo is safe and effective on the treatment of acute cerebral infarction (ACI) patients. But the clinical operation and manipulation quantization are hard to control because of the scalp acupunctures are too many. The increased suffering impacted the positivity and stability of patients. So we conduct clinical experiment to optimize the acupoint selection. Methods:Ninety patients are selected from encephalopathy department of the Third affiliated hospital of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese medicine since May,2011to October,2011. The ninety cases were divided into three groups randomly by single blind according to the time sequence of seeing doctor, each group has thirty patients. The three groups are scalp acupuncture optimization group I, optimization group â…¡ and original scalp acupuncture group. The best acupoint was selected through the observation of neurologic impairment and daily living mobility of the three groups.Results:1.The NIHSS score and the Barthel index (BI) of the three groups had no statistically significant differences before treatment (P>0.05),after treatment,The NIHSS score and the BI were obviously better after treatment, become statistically significant (P<0.01).Besides,the daily living mobility of the three groups all had significant difference(P<0.01, P<0.05).2. There were no significant differences on The NIHSS score and the Barthel index (BI) among the three groups before and after treatment (P>0.05).3. There were no myospasm and the other acupuncture adverse reaction during the treatment procedure in the three groups. Conclusion:The acupuncture treatment of Tong Nao Huo Luo is safe and effective on the treatment of acute cerebral infarction (ACI) patients. It could improve the neurologic impairment, daily life mobility and life quality of ACI patients, reduce the disability. The optimized scalp penetration decreased the number of acupoints, simplified the clinical operation, avoided the unnecessary waste, in favor of the popularizing of primary hospital. On the other side, the method also relieved the pain of patients, enhanced the positivity and stability of patients to cooperate with the treatment.
