Objective:Vibration response imaging (VRI) is a new computer-assisted lung soundimaging technology. Our objective was to explore it’s clinical value in chronic obstructivepulmonary disease(short for COPD). Methods:100COPD hospitalized patients inrespiratory department of the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang medical university and35healthy volunteers received lung function test(LFT) and VRI from November2010toOctober2011. VRI includes curve vibration values, dynamic hopping, the QLD of rightlung, crack counts and so on. Results: Here was statistical differences between VRIresults of COPD patients and control group(P<0.05).The abnormal scores on eithervibration energy graph or dynamic images increased along with higher severity ofCOPD(P<0.05).There was a linear relationship between the abnormal scores on vibrationenergy graph and dynamic images of VRI and FEV1%pred(r=0.549, P<0.001).Themodel of the linear regression was Y=108.851-3.072X1-6.896X2(Y: FEV1%pred,X1:dynamic image grades,X2: vibration energy graph grades). Conclusion:There wassignificant differences between VRI results of COPD patients and control group. VRI hasimportant clinical value on the diagnosing, examining and assessing the severity ofCOPD.
