Objective: To evaluate the curative effect of the selective posterior rhizotomy (SPR)at medullary conus for cerebral palsy. Methods: Collected69spastic celebral plasypatients in our hospital, form September2010to October2011, who treated with SPR atmedullary conus, The improvement of muscular tension, muscle strength and walkingfunction and complications before and after the operation, were analyzed retrospectively. And apply the SPSS17.0statistical software for statistical analysis. Results: In this group, the modified ashworth scale was used for preoperative and postoperative evaluation of themuscular tension. The muscular tension of hip flexor, hip adductor, knee flexor andplantar flexors all have significant statistical difference between six months afterthe operation, three days after the operation and preoperative (p<0.05); The musclestrength of seven muscle all have significant statistical difference between six months afterthe operation, three days after the operation and preoperative (p<0.05); The walkingability score have significant statistical difference between six months after the operationand preoperative (p<0.05); The postoperative complications of SPR in this group includedhad sensory barriers of lower limbs(1case, about1.45%), urine obstacles(1case, about1.45%), intracranial hypotension headache (4cases,5.80%), postoperative high fever (2cases,2.90%), incision complications(1case, about1.45%). Conclusion: Selectiveposterior rhizotomy (SPR) at medullary conus can improved the patient’s muscular tension, muscle strength and walking ability score significantly, and it has fewer complications.
