Objective: To investigate the clinical epidemiological characteristics and the majorcauses of primary liver cancer (PLC) in Xinjiang region. Methods: Retrospectivelyinvestigating and analyzing the clinical epidemiologic information of the first page of the3602cases history, which is been diagnosed caused by primary liver cancer in our hospitalfrom January2002to December2010. Result:3602cases, the percentage of the men andwomen is3.72:1; The Han, Uighur, Kazakh, and other national (hui, Mongolian, manchu,xibo nationality) in the proportion of81.95%、9.30%、4.14%、2.89%、1.72%,And Uighurand han nationality comparative differences are significant(P<0.05); Hepatitis Virusdetection results: HBs-Ag for positive1680cases (59.57%), HCV-Ab for positive229cases (9.41%), Virus detection for the negative have888patients (24.65%), hepatitis Bvirus positive rate of Uygur and Kazakh (36.13%,40.37%) were lower than the Han(63.18%)(P<0.05). Conclusion: Infection rate of hepatitis B virus in Uygur and Kazakpeople is significantly lower than the one in Han people of Xinjiang region, thedistribution of gender and age does not differ significantly compared with the one in otherregions, PLC in Xinjiang region has certain regional characteristics and features.
