Objective:To analyze the features of type2diabetic retinopathy (DR), and toexplore the relationship between serum cystatin C(Cys-C), and retinopathy in patientswith type2diabetes.Method:603cases of type2diabetes patients were recruited to havea fondues examination and fondues fluorescence angiography.Based on the findings,3groups were established no obvious retinopathy, mild non-proliferating diabeticretinopathy, moderately non-proliferating diabetic retinopathy, severe non-proliferatingdiabetic retinopathy, and proliferating diabetic retinopathy. Clinical courses weremonitored, while gyrated hemoglobin(HbA1c), Cys-C,24-hour urinary albuminquantitative (24h-UAE) were determined. Results: In all cases, total DR prevalenceac-counted for about47percent.Compared with the group1, clinical courses, HbA1c,Cys-C,24h-UAE in the other four groups were significantly increased (P<0.05),in theorder from group2to5(P<0.05).Multiple regression analysis showed that Cys-C wasindependent risk factors for DR prevalence rate and the severity of DR,and werepositively correlated with the duration of type2diabetes, the sicken HbA1c and24h-UAE,respectively.Conclusions: DR and severity are closely related with Cys-C.Cys-C mayserve as biological indicators to predict the occurrence and development of DR....
