Clinical Research Of Bushenhuoxuexuanfei Method For Treatmentof Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Objective:observe the clinical effect on benign prostatic hyperplasia treated by Bushenhuoxuexuanfei methodMethods:60patients were recruited from outpatient service in andrology department of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences XiYuan Hospital from2010.06～2012.01.60cases were dividedinto two groups,which were experimental group and comparison group.30patients in experimental group as a TCM treatment group had taken bushenhuoxuexuafei decoction twice a day and the others30patients in comparison group had taken0.9g of Longbisu capsule twice a day. Patients in each group had been through this process for3months. For each group, test results of before and after treatments for TCM syndrome score, IPSS, maximum urinary flow rate(Qmax), residual urine volume(RU) and prostrate volume had been comparedResults:Finally54cases divided into two group.27patients in experimental group and27patients comparison group. The total effective rate of experimental group was88.89%and total effective rate of comparison group was74.07%the difference between the two groups wassignificant(P<0.01). The figure of TCM of each group had been decreased by6.18±2.29for experimental group,4.19±1.92for comparison group on average after treatments, which means it could be taken as a significant difference for both groups(P<0.05).Thefigure of IPSS had been decreased from19.41to10.37andthe mean was9.04±2.02in the experimental group; before treatment of Thefigure of IPSS was18.00, After treatment,Thefigure of IPSS was13.00, the mean was5.00±1.84。the difference between the two groups wassignificant(P<0.05).The figure ofQOLof each group had been decreased byl.71±0.58for experimental group,1.27±0.67for comparison group on average after treatments, there is significant difference for both groups(P<0.05).The figure of Qmax of each group had been increased by5.05ml/s for experimental group,3.44ml/s for comparison group on average after treatments, which means it could be taken as a significant difference for both groups(P<0.05). both BuShenHouXueXuanFei decoction and Longbisu capsule are had not improved volume(RU) and prostrate volume(P>0.05).Conclusion:Both BuShenHouXueXuanFei decoction and Longbisu capsule are effective against BPH.It was observed that the figure of Ipss, qol, tcm had been decreased and the figure qmx had been increased in both groups. Particularly it is indicated that BuShenHuoXueXuanFei decoction is more effective on decreasing the figure of TCM, IPSS, QOL and increases the figure of Qmaxbetter than Longbisu capsule.one of the positive results during this research is that any side effect has never seen, which means it is safe clinically. Through this experiment, it has been proved that themethod of BuShenHouXueXuanFei is a valuable one as one of effective means of BPH treatment and hope to keep the research of the curative power of BuShenHuoXueXuanFei method going on.
