Investigation On Sociological Characteristics And Factors On Patient Health Seeking Delay Of Male Cases With STDs In A Comprehensive Hospital Clinic

Objectives:To investigate the status on health seeking behaviors and related factors on patient delay of male cases with STDs in a comprehensive hospital clinic, and develop health education tactics on STDs suffered.Methods:Questionnaire survey was carried on cases with STDs surpassed15y continuously in a comprehensive hospital clinic form June to Sept. The questionnaire was used to adopt the information of sociological characteristics, the status on health seeking behaviors, knowledges with STDs, sexual behaviors and test results of HIV,HCV, syphilis.Results:218cases were enrolled.The median of interval from syptoms appearing to routine health care was14.5d, range was360(0d-360d).89cases (40.8%) was suffered patient delayLower knowledges scores (OR=0.329,90%CI=0.217～0.499), relapse (OR=1.805,90%CI=1.031～3.159), the age of primary sexual behaviors below18y (OR=0.425,90%CI=0.229～0.787) and commercial sexual behaviors experience (OR=3.145,90%CI=1.641～7.989) were risk fators for patient dlay.Conclusion:Lower knowledges scores, relapse, the age of primary sexual behaviors below18y and commercial sexual behaviors experience were risk fators for patient delay.The government and The NGO should supply health promotion programs for STDs cases.The Target should aimed at limiting the spread of STDs and AIDS.
