Objective:The aim is to summarize the experience in surgical treatment of pancreatic cancer, and investigate the prognostic factors of pancreatic cancer patients. Methods:We collected and retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of71patients which were treated by surgical operation from General Surgery of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University ranging from Dec2006to Mar2009. Firstly, descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data including gender, age, initial symptoms, jaundice, hospitalization time, TNM stage, degree of differentiation, lymph node metastasis and so forth. The information of patients about all-cause death and the exact death time were surveyed by telephone follow-up after three years of the operation. Finally, univariate analysis between different groups were performed through the log-rank test, and then Multivariate analysis between the relevant factors were performed through the COX model. Results:The patients in this article totally are71, including41males and30females aged25-81years old. The cases, with epigastric pain as the initial symptom, are52, and another14cases sought medical advice due to jaundice. There are35cases obtained the pathological diagnosis, including7cases of well-differentiated pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma,10cases of moderately differentiated ductal adenocarcinoma,14cases of poorly differentiated ductal adenocarcinoma. There was one case died during hospitalization due to septic shock. The1-,2-and3-year survival rate of total patients was29.6%,11.3%,5.6%respectively, with a median survival of9months. The univariate analysis showed that lymph node metastasis, TNM stage and surgical procedure were related with survival, while gender, age and degree of differentiation were not correlated. The multivariate analysis established that surgical procedure was the independent prognosis factor for the long-term survival. Conclusion:Lymph node metastasis, TNM stage and surgical procedure were related with survival, and the surgical procedure was the independent prognosis factor.
