BackgroundThe upper urinary tract transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) is a rareaggressive tumor. There are many types of surgery method to treat thisdisease, including open surgery and laparoscopic surgery.Research purposesTo determine the best surgical treatment for the upper urinary tracttransitional cell carcinoma.MethodRetrieving the evaluation of Randomized trial which concerning thesurgical treatment of upper urinary tract TCC from the following databases:Pubmed/of Medline database (1990.1-2010.10), OVID (1990.1-2010.10),EMBASE (1990.1-2010.10), China Academic Journal (CNKI:1990.1-2010.10),Chinese Evidence-Based Medicine/Cochrane Centre database (the CEBM\the CCD), the Cochrane library. Collect all the relevant literature.Preliminary screening of all included studies, obtain the full text ofthe screened literature, to evaluate the test by the Risk of biasassessment tool which recommended by the Cochrane Collaboration and useRevMan5.1software for Meta-analysis. The outcome measure was the timeof surgery, blood loss, postoperative recovery of gastrointestinalfunction of time and postoperative hospital stay.ResultWe meet our inclusion criteria to find a randomized controlled trial, this trial showed that laparoscopic surgery compared to open surgery, laparoscopy has the advantage of better survival rate of perioperative, and intraoperative blood loss (104mlvs430ml P <0.001) differencesstatistically significant.ConclusionFrom existing randomized controlled trials is not yet high-qualityevidence to prove Which is the best surgical approach for upper urinarytract transitional cell carcinoma. However, a small randomized trials andobservational data show that, compared with open surgery, laparoscopicsurgery can obtain the same survival rate, intraoperative blood loss wasless and recovery faster.
