Objective:1.Heart structure and left ventricular diastolic function of overweight andobese groups was detected by Echocardiography to investigate effect of obesityon the cardiac structure and left ventricular(LV)diastolic function2.Comparing sensitivity of all the indexes evaluating LV diastolic function.3.To detect changes of heart structure and left ventricular diastolic function in overweight and obese people by Echocardiography as soon as possiblefor advocating weight loss and promoting a healthy way of life, to reducingcardiovascular disease incidence and mortality.Methods:1.80healthy check-up persons was divided into normal weight group (n=30), overweight group (n=25) and obese group (n=25) by body mass index(BMI).2.At rest, all subjects underwent Routine echocardiography、Tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) and Color M-mode Doppler echocardiogram (CMD) to measure all of heart structure paremeters (LAd, LVEDd, IVSd, LVPMd, LVM, LVMI)) and LV diastolic function paremeters (E peak, A peak, E/A ratio, IVRT, TDI Ea, TDI Aa, TDI Ea/Aa ratio and FPV)3.To compare and analysize all the paremeters of overweight and obesegroupsResults:1.Compared with normal weight group, overweight and obese group showed thickened ventricular walls, augmented left ventricles, increased left ventricular mass(LVMI), and TDI Ea、TDI Ea/Aa ratio reduced, with enhanced mitralE/TDI Ea,(P<0.05), and the E peak, E/A ratio, A peak, IVRT and FPV of obese group were lower, higher, longer and faller than those of in normal weightgroup(P<0.05). Difference of E wave deceleration time in Each group wasstatistically significant. 2.The heart structure and diastolic function of obese group were worsened, compared with those of overweight group(P<0.05).3.BMI correlated positively with LAd、LVEDd、IVSd、LVPWd、LVM,LVMIand Aa、E/Ea、IVRT, but correlated negatively with Ea、Ea/Aa、FPV.Conclusion:1.Obesity can lead to cardiac hypertrophy, decline of LV diastolic function, and the changes is more obvious with the increase of BMI.2.Obesity is independent risk factor of subclinical LV diastolic dysfunction. It is possible to improve the accuracy of the evaluation of LV diastolic function with multi-index comprehensive analyses in the declined phase of LV diastolic function belongs to myocardial retardation-type.3.TDI and E/Ea is more sensitive and effective than conventional methods evaluating LV diastolic function. Color M type doppler also is one of new technologies which is used to evaluate left ventricular diastolic function in recent years, and feasible and worethy of further research in evaluating left ventricular diastolic function.
