Laparoscopy is one of the most advanced technologies in the field of modernmedicine, patients with light trauma, less pain, quicker recovery and shorter postoperativehospital stay. Laparoscopic surgery has become the gold standard technique of manydiseases, including cholecystolithiasis, hepatic cysts, and, more recently, colorectal andgastric cancer.etc. Because of the deep position of pancreas in the retroperitoneal and theadjacence of stomach, duodenum and other vital abdominal organs, close relation to largeblood vessels, the pancreas is hard to reveal. Compared to other abdominal organs, laparoscopic pancreatic surgery is more difficult to perform and with long learning curve, developing relatively slowly. In recent years, with the emergence of new surgicalinstruments such as Harmonic scalpel, Endo-GIA Stapler and LigaSure, Laparoscopictechnology continues to skilled. To date, laparoscopic pancreatic surgery has been inconsiderable progress and become increasingly popular.Laparoscopic distal pancretectomy (LDP) has been examined in retrospective reviewsof several large single institutional of pancreatic surgery centers. These stduies havedemonstrated that laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy (LDP), compared with opensurgery, offers an effective way of benign or clearing premalignant disease from the bodyand tail of the pancreas, with a reasonable postoperative morbidity. LDP has an advantageof shorter length of hospital stay, less estimated blood loss, less trauma and quick recovery.Compared with paparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD), laparoscopic distalpancreatectomy (LDP) does not need to be consistent, with shorter operative time. Thetechnology of LDP is relatively simple. Compared with traditional surgury, LDP hasobvious advantages. The incision of LDP has significantly reduced.Department of General Surgery, Changhai Hospital, is one of the largest pancreaticsurgery centers in China. The average pancreatic surgeries are nearly600cases per year, more than400patients with pancreaticoduodenectomy, and nearly200patients with distalpancreatectomy. The range of pancreatic diseases covers all pancreatic benign, borderlineand malignant tumors. Carrying out laparoscopic pancreatic surgery in the appropriatecases is in line with the patient’s requirements. It is also the direction we focus on.In this study, we collected all data of the patients who accepted laparoscopic distalpancreatectomy (LDP) or open distal pancreatectomy (ODP) during the same period in ourdepartment of general surgery. The two groups of patient’s pre-operative, operative, and...
