Objecti veThis research aims to summarize the regularity application and compatibility of longgu and muli in the’Shanghanzabing Lun’to have a better understanding of Zhang Zhongjin’s theory of diagnosis and treatment, and thus to lead to better utilization of these two drugs in the clinical environment.MethodIn this study, a literature analysis, inductive research methods,to strengthen the compilation of research on traditional Chinese medicine literature topics. First of all, all in all involved longgu-related and muli-related provisions and prescriptions. Secondly, in accordance with the relevant parties permit the etiology and pathogenesis. Combined with provisions and ancient medical discourse, in terms of symptoms, etiology and pathogenesis, governance law and other analyze and summarize, explore the regularity of appilication of longgu and muli. Thirdly, classification the related prescriptions in accordance with the function of longgu and muli in the related prescriptions. Combined with etiology and pathogenesis of related provisions, in terms of the usage of the drugs involved, dosage and ratio, decoction method summarized the compatibility and usage of longgu and muli.ResultsAccording to this research, we find out that there’re three aspects about the regularity application and compatibility of longgu and muli in the’Shanghanzabing Lun’. Firstly, in the case of mind was disturbed and thersophy has a disorder, we should use longgu and muli with the same big amount can play the functions of center and soothe the nerves, convergence and astringent. Secondly, in situations of stopped phlegm or wet, we should singly use muli, for it can expectorant. We should use muli with small amount in the form of powder, but with a big amount in the form of decoction. Thirdly, in the case of essence-loss without disorder of thersophy, or in the case of Pin malaria, we should singly use longgu with a small amount in the form of powder, to play a role of holding the Yang to prevent losing essence or expectorant and curing malaria.
