Object iveIn order to discuss the change of biophysical information in the disease state of human body between the heat-sensitive acupoint and the non heat-sensitive acupoint, we observed the diffuse reflectance of these acupoints.MethodsWe chose35patients with lumbar disc herniation who met the inclusion, exclusion criteria. Pure moxa sticks were used to search the heat-sensitive acupoint on the patient body surface with high risk heat-sensitive sites and the related non heat-sensitive acupoint. The acupoints were divide into three groups:the heat-sensitive acupoints group, the proximal control acupoints group and the distal control acupoints group. A miniature fiber optic spectrometer was used to get reflective spectral characteristics and its parameters of these acupoints, to find out the diffuse reflectance of these acupoints by analysising the data.ResultsIn425.09nm and557.63nm wavelengths, there was no significant difference in reflectivity between the acupoints of heat-sensitive acupoints group, so was the proximal control acupoints group and distal control acupoints group. There exists significant difference in reflectivity between hibateral Dachangshu(BL25) of heat-sensitive acupoints group and their ipsilateral control acupoints of proximal control acupoints group, and Yaoshu(DU2) of heat-sensitive acupoints group was the same(P<0.05).In425.09nm wavelength, there exists significant difference in reflectivity between hibateral Xuanzhong(GB39) of distal control acupoints group and each point of heat-sensitive acupoint group(P<0.05); in557.63nm wavelength, there exists significant difference in reflectivity between left side GB39and left side BL25and DU2(P<0.05),but no significant difference in reflectivity to right side BL25(P>0.05); there exists significant difference in reflectivity between right side GB39and DU2of heat-sensitive acupoints group (P<0.05), but no significant difference in reflectivity to hibateral BL25(P>0.05). Difference in diffuse reflectance of acupoints in425.09nm wavelength was more sensitive, and it was more obvious.Conelus ionThe diffuse reflectance of the thermal state points on patients with lumbar disc herniation is similar, but the nearby related non thermal points and the distal points of the spectral reflectance difference existed between.Human disease in the state, with cauterizing the heat-sensitive acupoint and the non heat-sensitive acupoint by burning moxa, subjective generated moxibustion have different feeling. While the heat-sensitive acupoint on human body carrying biophysical information relative to the non heat-sensitive acupoint changes, and can be obtained from the reflectance spectra of the objective.
