ObjectivesTo observe and compare the clinical therapeutic effect of dog-days and sanjiu-days auto-moxibustion and ordinary auto-moxibustion. To explore the regularity of time-effect and dose-effect of auto-moxibustion in the treatment of allergicrhinitis.Methods165patients with allergicrhinitis were adopted in the department of otrhinolaryngology. They were parted to three groups. Every group have65patients. The first group named the group of dogdays and sanjiudays. Patients will be cured during dogdays and sanjiudays in this group. There is10times. Dogdays have5times. Sanjiudays have5times. The second group named the group of nondogdays and nonsanjiudays or ordinary. Patients will be cured during nondogdays and nonsanjiudays in this group. There is10times. Nondogdays have5times during two mouthes from April to May. Nonsanjiudays have5times during two mouthes from September to October. The thrid group named the group of four seasons. Patients will receive the cure including the frist group and the second group. The total is20times.The subjects were evaluated before treatment, after completion of the course of treatment and after6months. Observed indicators included the clinical efficacy, reduction of symptom and improvement of signs and VAS that can assess quality of life.Result1. Comparing post-treatment with pretherapy①The scores of symptom of sneezing,nose-running, nasal congestion and nasal itching, after the treatment were statistically improved compared with those before the treatment (all P<0.05) ②The scores of nasal of signs after the treatment were significantly improved compared with those before the treatment (all P<0.05)③The overall scores of nasal of signs and symptom after the treatment were significantly improved compared with those before the treatment (all P<0.05)④The scores of VAS after the treatment were significantly improved compared with those before the treatment (all P<0.05)Three groups of sneezing, stuffy nose, nasal itching, runny nose, signs, symptoms and signs and total VAS are improvement after treatment.2. Group comprsion at post-treatment①he scores of symptom of nose running, nasal congestion and VAS after treatment has no statistical different in group comprsion (all P>0.05)②The scores of symptom of sneezing, nasal itching and signs after treatment has statistical different in group comprsion (all P<0.05)The overall scores of nasal symptom and signs after treatment has statistical different in group comprsion (all P<0.05)There is no statistical difference between the group of dogdays and sanjiudays and he group of nondogdays and nonsanjiudays (all P>0.05)After treatment, the four seasons group showed better result than above groups (all P<0.05)3. At the end of the treatment and6monthes, the effectiveness of the group of four seasons is no significantly better than that of dogdaysandsanjiudays and nondogdaysandnonsanjiudays. While, there is no significant different in therapectic effect of auto-moxibustion between the first group and the second group.Conelusion1Moxibustion is an effective in treatment of allergic rhinitis. It is reflected in two aspects:①nasal symptoms, signs and symptoms and signs are improved,②the quality of patient’s life is improved. But three groups of patients in the near future, the long-term outcome comparing between groups were not statistically significant.2. There is dose-effect relation in moxibustion therapy allergic rhinitis. This topic is reflected in improvement of nasal signs, symptoms of nasal and the total score. United sanfusanjiu group and nonsanfusanjiu group (total20times), curative effect is better than pure the Sanfusanjiu group or nonsanfusanjiu group (10times). The more times that treatment of llergic rhinitis, the better the outcomes.3. There is no time-effect relation in moxibustion therapy allergic rhinitis. It also needs further research. The improving of nasal symptoms, signs and the total score is the same between Sanfusanjiu group and nonsanfusanjiu group to allergic rhinitis...
