The Study Of The Effect Of Chinese Medicine Fumigation On VDT Asthenopia By Eyes

ObjectiveThe objective of the subject is to study the production of experimental VDT asthenopia and the effect of Chinese medicine fumigation on VDT asthenopia, and observe near contrast visual acuity of the LCD backlight100%and30%and easy-taking100%,10%and low-light vision, to explore the characteristics of the main symptoms of VDT asthenopia, and the relationship of VDT asthenopia and contrast vision and the effect of Chinese medicine fumigation on VDT asthenopia.Methods35volunteers met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into2groups:Chinese medicine fumigation group (21cases) and the control group (14cases) by taking general and special examination to celect the appropriate. The general examination:distance and near vision, slit-lamp biomicroscope in front segment examination, non-contact tonometer in eyes tonometry, direct ophthalmoscopy in eyes fundus examination;Hirschberg method, alternative cover test, cover-uncover test toevclude strabismus, eyes movement test;the special examination:computer refractor under Xiaotong refraction, retinoscopy refraction;contrast visual acuity examination:the LCD backlight100%and30%,easy-taking100%,10%and low-light vision. A17-inch computer monitor is placed away33cm away from the measured eye for executing a computer game program (" Lianliankan") to evoke VDT asthenopia as a nearwork adjust stimulation after the basic information obtained; and then taking contrast visual acuity examination twice and filling in the questionnaire survey of symptoms of VDT asthenopia, taking fumigation15min by eyes through the harber fumigation machine with re-self-prescription (anti-fatigue soup) or pure water, taking contrast visual acuity examination and filling in the questionnaire survey of symptoms of VDT asthenopia again. According to changes of near contrast visual acuity and the questionnaire scores, maybe we could explore the different roles of the different fumigation methods to alleviate VDT asthenopia.Results1. The main symptoms of VDT asthenopia are eye dryness, blurred vision, eye soreness and so on.2. Significant differences in easy-taking100%,10%and low-light vision were observed between game before and after in two groups (P<0.05).3. Significant differences in the LCD backlight100%and30%, easy-taking100%,10%and low-light vision were observed between game before and after in Chinese medicine fumigation group (P<0.05).4. Significant differences in the LCD backlight30%, easy-taking100%,10%and low-light vision were observed between game before and after in the control group (P<0.05).5. No statistic significance was found in near contrast visual acuity between Chinese medicine fumigation group and the control group (P>0.05).6. Significant differences in the questionnaire scores were observed between fumigation before and after in two groups. Furthermore, significant differences in the questionnaire scores difference were observed between Chinese medicine fumigation group and the control group in progame(P<0.05).ConclusionThe results of the research illustrate that the changes of near vision behave in low contrast visual acuity and low-light vision(P<0.05). Chinese medicine fumigation is helpful in relieving the symptoms of VDT asthenopia, and increasing each contrast visual acuity but not only the low contrast visual acuity(P<0.05); The main symptoms of VDT asthenopia are eye dryness, blurred vision, eye soreness and so on. Low contrast visual acuity can assess VDT asthenopia measurablly.
