Clinical Studies On Treatment Of Chronic Tension Headache By Electroacupuncture

BackgroundChronic tension headache is the frequent primary headache, which has a severely bad effect on the quality of acromeglic life. If it can be diagnosed and given effective treat clinically in time, the mutilation and death rate will be cut down, and the quality of acromeglic life will be improved.As is known, western medicine in effect on the disease has much side effect on digestive and nervous system, and is also very expensive, which makes chronic tension headache patients hardly accept it.Acupuncture therapy combined with massage by self for this disease is confirmed to be in effect and have less side effect, which is easily acce pted by sufferer. But departed researches are generally only clinical expe rience summaries or observations, which are short of rigorous random contr ol studies.My tutor Mainly acupunctures Baihui, Yintang, Taiyang, Fengchi, c-ombined with massage by self to treat Chronic tension headache and has an good effect, which is according to Chinese medical theory.ObjectiveTo investigate theclinical effect on the patients with chronic tension headache after electroacupuncture combined with massage by self.Methods62chronic tension headache patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. In treatment group, electroacupuncture was given at Baihui, Yintang, Taiyang Fengchi and Shenmen, Hegu, Waiguan, Yanglao included when necessary,combined with massage Fengchi, Jingjiaji, Jianjing and Shenmen by self.In control group, electroacupuncture was given the same as treatment group.All the patiens were evaluated by headache comprehensive scale before and4weeks after treatment.ResultsIn treatment group, significant change accures in the aspect of after4weeks, according to before treatment (P<0.05). There is significant difference between2groups in the aspect of headache rate, headache duration, headache degree, concomitant symptom and comprehensive score (P<0.05)ConclutionsElectroacupuncture mainly at Baihui, Yintang, Taiyang Fengchi and Shenmen, combined with massage by self, has positive effects on chronic tension headache in the aspect of headache rate, headache duration, headache degree, concomitant symptom and comprehensive score.
