The Abdomen Examination is an authentic Chinese diagnostic Kung-Fu. As part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Diagnosis, the Abdomen Examination is used directly to search for lesion of diseases by "Drumming, listening, then knowing the shape and the essence of organs and celiomas, identifying and integrating this set of examinations to distinguish every disease." The Auscultatory Percussion is a major active measure for TCM with a methodology similar to the power of a submarine sonar.A lot of Abdomen Examination basic theory is gathered in the Inner Canon of Medicine(Huangdi Neijing,黄帝内经),then is enhanced and deepened in the Classic on Difficulty(难经),is further prevailingly practiced and clinically evidenced in the Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Diseases and Internal Diseases(伤'金匮杂病论).The TCM identifies a few functional entities. While health is perceived as harmonious interaction of these entities and the outside world, disease is interpreted as a disharmony in interaction. The abdominal examination consists in tracing symptoms to an underlying disharmony pattern. It is mainly done by firstly observing the patient’s complexion and figure, secondly auscultatory percussing the drumming echo of organs and celiomas, then palpating the size and hardness of phyma. An abnormal finding can be detected. The doctor should be able to instantly sense the shape from shallow to deep in three dimensional, six layers of diseases. At the same time, the gas, blood, water generated by an organ would be understood. The doctor can further confirm his diagnoses by conducting the palpation. Depending on the diagnoses, the doctor can understand whether his energies of the five viscera are abundant or not, his six hollow organs are strong or not, his physique and energy are prosperous or not. When these aspects are considered comprehensively, the doctor can judge the status of the patient.Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) refers to a broad range of medicine practices sharing common theoretical concepts developed for more than two millennia. The basic theory of TCM is developed and supported by gathering practicing experiences from generation to generation. The Inner Canon of Medicine is an ancient Chinese medical text that has been treated as the fundamental doctrines source. Within which, the Abdomen Examination Is rooted. The clinical application of the Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Diseases and Internal Diseases(伤'金匮杂病论)was analyzed and concluded in great detail at the end.
