Objective To explore the correlation between expression of S100A4and tumor invasion and metastasis in osteosarcoma.Methods Immunohistochemisty was employed to determine the expression of S100A4in cancerous tissues of61cases with OS and specimen of15cases with osteochondroma. The S100A4expression and clinicopathological factor of osteoscarcoma were evaluated by uni-variant analysis.Results Positive expression rates of S100A4were75.4%in osteosarcoma, and13.3%inosteochondroma. The difference was statistically significant. The expression of S100A4was significantly correlated with clinical stage, pathological type and lung metastasis., but not related with sex, age or location.Conclusion S100A4might be useful in prdicting the biological characteristics and prognosis in osteosarcoma. S100A4could be a prognostic factor for the monitoring of tumor recurrence and metastasis. |
