Objective To investigate neuropathic pain in pathogeny, patient age, quality of life, mood condition, the treatment method and curative effect, and to analyze the relationship between life quality and anxiety with pain degree.Methods113patients with neuropathic pain were selected from neurology clinic of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. General status instrument, SF-36instrument and HAMA instrument were used to investigate. The major statistical analysis described by SPSS17.0as follows:pearson correlation analysis and single factor logistic regression analysis. Results Patients with neuropathic pain had a mean age of (57.3±16.4) years. Trigeminal neuralgia (23.6%), nerve root pain (21.7%), post-herpetic neuralgia (13.2%) were the most common causes. Injury severity of patients’life quality in order as role-physical (average21.2points), bodily pain (39.9points) role-emotional (41.2points), general health (50points), physical functioning (55.1points), vitality(60points), mental health (68.5points), social functioning(70.9points). Pearson correlation coefficients were statistically significant (p<0.05) between bodily pain and other dimensions of life quality and there were linear correlations, but there was no correlation between bodily pain and anxiety emotion. Medicine (45.5%) was the most commonly used treatment method for physicians. Though amitriptyline had high efficiency (76.2%), the clinical application rate is low (6.5%); Anti-inflammatory drugs had low efficiency (50.7%), but the clinical application rate was high(46.5%).Conclusion Trigeminal neuralgia, nerve root pain, post-herpetic neuralgia are the most common causes of neuropathic pain. Although drug is the first choice, clinical drug selection should be standardization. As the treatment method being optimized, psychology education about the disease shouid also be put into practice to improve the quality of life of patients.
