Purpose:To discuss the clinical, histopathologic and immunocytochemical features of Progressive Transformation of Germinal Centers and guide clinicians and pathologists in diagnosing and therapy. Methods:Here we find9patients of our department who have the diagnosis of progressively transformed germinal center in the past5years (Jan.2007to May.2012). The clinical characteristics, histological features, differential diagnoses, prognosis condition were analyzed. Related cases published in the literature was reviewed. Results:In these9cases, cervical lymph nodes are involved in2cases,1in submandibular region,5in or around parotid gland,1in facial region. The sizes range from1cm*1cm to3cm*3cm. One of them has a history of hypertension, one has thyroid nodule. All of them received surgery of excisional biopsy and had regular histopathologic examination. We find the removed masses with moderate texture have complete peplos, the cut surface likes fish colored of kermesinus.2month to5years and3months’follow-up has been taken. All of the patients do not have a relapse. They do not complain of anemia, acratia, wasting, fever, lymphadenectasis of unknown reason. One of them compains the discomfortable of the parotid region. Conclusions:We find progressively transformed germinal centers always occur around cervical part with susceptible population of males. The clinical appearance is isolate lymphadenectasis without pain, having a negative reaction to anti-inflammatory and a normal hemogram. The final diagnosis relies to histopathologic and immunocytochemical examination. It needs a close follow-up.
