Object: To explore the levels of Thl7cells, IL-17and IL-21in the peripheral blood and itsclinical significance in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods:1.48cases of non-small cell lung cancer in Fenyang Hospital affiliated to ShanxiMedical University from January2010to December2010were selected, who were all diagn-osed pathologically as new-onset squamous cell carcinoma(29cases) or gland cancer (19cases)and had not received chemotherapy, including34male and14female patients. The median agewas56years old with age span from39to70years old.20healthy persons after check-up wereselected as control group including14male and6female, whose median age was54years old, with the age span from38to72years old. Their age and gender structure was similar to the lun-g cancer group’s.2. The selected cases were divided into four groups: period with4cases, period with14cases, period (A+B) with21cases, period with9cases.Based on the TNMstaging standards set by AJCC and UICC in2002in combination[1] with clinical check, chestCT, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, abdominal CT orMRI.3. The proportion of Thl7Cell in CD3T-cell was detected by means of flow cytometry(FCM),the concentration of IL-17and IL-21was measured by means of enzyme-linked imm-unosorbent assay(ELISA).4. SPSS13.0soft ware was used to do the statistical calculation work. All the results areexpressed in the form ofx rs, and average compare employs t test and single factor analysisof variance. The correlation analysis uses Pearson correlation, with p <0.05being statisticallysignificant.Results:1. The Thl7Cell proportion in CD3T-cell in peripheral blood of NSCLC patients ishigher than the normal control:1.27±0.42%vs1.05±0.28%(p<0.05). The concentration ofSerum IL-17and IL-21is higher than the normal respectively:21.52±8.42pg/ml vs17.04±5.66pg/ml (p<0.05),82.11±17.05pg/ml vs72.42±12.78pg/ml (p<0.05). 2.The expression levels of Thl7cells, IL-17, IL-21in peripheral blood of Squamous cellcarcinoma patients are all higher than the adenocarcinoma patients,s (p <0.05).3. The expression of Thl7cells, IL-17, IL-21in peripheral blood of non-small cell lungcancer patients is unrelated to age and gender(p>0.05).4.As clinical stage increases, the levels of Thl7cells,IL-17and IL-21were significantlydowntrend(p <0.05).5. The proportion of Thl7cell in Peripheral blood has a positive correlation with the levelof Serum IL-17(r=0.604, p<0.01),IL-21(r=0.539, p<0.01),and Serum IL-17and IL-21(r=0.508, p <0.05) are positively correlated.Conclusion1. The expression levels of Thl7cells, IL-17, IL-21in peripheral blood of NSCLC patientsis higher than the normal control, which is probably related to the stimulation from tumormicroenviornment.2. As clinical stage increases, the levels of Thl7cells,IL-17,IL-21were significantlydowntrend, and the expression levels in peripheral blood of Squamous cell carcinoma patientsare all higher than the adenocarcinoma patients’s,which indicates they are correlated with themalignant degree of NSCLC.3. The Thl7Cell and IL-17and IL-21is positive correlation, which indicates the role ofthem is consistent in the progress of NSCLC.
