Objective:Stubborn epistaxis which cannot be controlled by the application of the local compression.vasoconstrictor, sedative,and so on.It can cause the patients sufferring from anaemia, even hemorrhagic shock, which can endanger life, so it must be quickly effective treat the epistaxis.This paper aims to evaluat the curative effect of nasal endoscopic for the treatment of the stubborn epistaxis, especially the olfactory region and sphenopalatine artery hemorrhage.Methods:80patients with stubborn epistaxis from May2010to February2012who from Shanxi medical university second hospital otolaryngology clinic were selected in to this study,except who with Nasal injury history,Nasal tumor history,Nasal polyps history and Blood diseases history. These patients were randomly divided into two groups. the treatment group had43examples include20patients of olfactory region hemorrhage and8patients of sphenopalatine artery hemorrhage, who had the treatment of Electrocoagulation and surgery through nasal endoscope. The control group had37examples include18patients of olfactory region hemorrhage and7patients of sphenopalatine artery hemorrhage,who had the treatment of anterior-posterior nasal cavity packing. Follow-up of3months after treatment, observe the curative effect.Results:The two groups of patients in age, gender structure, whether with systemic disease, bleeding site in factors and so on that had no significant differences. Follow-up after3months,43patients in the treatment group had a well curative effect, cure rate was97.67%, and there were1cases had intermittent ooze blood, but more significantly reduced than before, effective rate was100%; the37patients in the control group, cure rate was70.27%, the rate was78.38%, with8cases of invalid.The treatment group and control group was statistically significant differences, P<0.05.Conclusion:Treatment of stubborn epistaxis under nasal endoscopic is a ideal method, w ith a high cure rate in one time, and few side effects, especially in the olfactory region and sphenopalatine artery hemorrhage.
