Background and PurposeNowadays, with the development of bio-psy-soc-medical model, Mental Health attracts more and more attention. Psychological intervention has been gradually applied on clinic, and has obtained a good result. Patients with condyloma acuminatum are as special population, their psychological problems are also indispensable.Because of fast clinical hyperplasia, easy recurrence and possibility of carcinogenesis, patients with condyloma acuminatum have different degree of psychological obstacles, and life quality of patients is generally decreased. Depression is more common.mutual influence between major psychological stress and immune system of body can decrease immune function, then promote the recurrence of body of verruca.This study investigated the depression and life quality of condyloma acuminatum, analyzed the influence factors between the depression and life quality, and explored the relationship between depression and life quality, expecting that this study can provide theoretical basis to carry out psychological intervention, improve life quality of patients, and enhance the curative effect.Methods From March2010to June2011,162patients with condyloma acuminatum and169avreage persons in skin clinic of the first affiliated hospital of Zhengzhou university were collected. And the study group was patients with condyloma acuminatum, while the control group was patients without condyloma acuminatum. All the subjects were completed by questionnaires.SDS was applied in evaluation of depression, while DLQI was applied in evaluation of life quality. General condition and clinical data were collected by self-made questionnaire. Patients of study group with SDS≥0.5was as the depression group, SDS<0.5as the non-depression group.Statistics methods with SPSS17.0were used to analyze the data. The Chi-square test was performed on comparison of the qualitative data, while t-test and one way anova were performed on comparison of the quantitative data, Univariate analysis and multivariate regression were used to analyze the relationship of related factors and life quality. Test level a was0.05.Results1. The incidence of depression in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(47.5%vs26.6%), and the depression had correlation with economic status, marital status, course of disease, the degree of knowledge of disease, educational level, conscientious disease severity and whether standard of first visit to hospitalization (P<0.05). It was independent of gender and age (P>0.05).2. The total score of life quality of study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(12.72±2.02vs7.83±1.11), and the score had correlation with gender, economic status, marital status, course of disease, the degree of knowledge of disease, educational level, conscientious disease severity, whether standard of first visit to hospitalization and depression status(P<0.05). It was independent of gender and age (P>0.05).3. There was a positive correlation between depression status and the total score of life quality(r=0.718, P<0.001), and the score of the depression group of the study group was significantly higher than that of the non-depression group of the control group(14.35±1.65vs11.31±1.17,t=13.389), and there was a positive correlation between depression lever and the life quality. Conclusions1. The incidence of depression in patients with condyloma acuminatum was significantly higher, and could decrease the life quality.2. The patients depression was influenced by economic status, marriage, course of disease, the degree of knowledge of disease, educational level,conscientious disease severity and the case of first visit to hospitalization. Depression status, marriage, conscientious disease severity, the degree of knowledge of disease, and the case of first visit to hospitalization were risk factors of worse life quality.
