OBJECTIVE:According to carry out a longitudinal comparison on the similarities and differences among1st,2nd and3rd edition of WHO model list of essential medicines for children and horizontal comparison on the differences and similarities between the third edition of3rd WHO Model List of Essential Medicines for Children and the National Basic Medical Insurance, workplace Injury Insurance and Birth Insurance Medicines (western part), on the basis of the understanding of the evolution of the children’s essential medicines policy of WHO, to provide suggestion and reference for the establishment and implementation of the country’s essential medicines list for children and the national basic medical insurance list for children. And according to carry out the horizontal comparison of the policy of the between the Chinese and American clinical trials of children medicines and comparatively analyze the regulations of the label instructions of nonprescription medicines between Sino-US and further study the structure and format of the description of ibuprofen suspension (Advil) of American, on the basis of the understanding of the development of the regulatory policy of children’s medicines in the United States, to offer some suggestions and references for the establishment and perfection of the supervision and management system of children’s medicines.MEHTORDS:Quantitative Analysis:Utilize software SPSS19.0to analyze the data of the three editions of WHO model list of essential medicines for children in species, dosage form+specification and so on, to reveal the regular pattern and development trend of the three editions of WHO model list of essential medicines for children; And utilize SPSS19.0to analyze the data of3rd WHO Model List of Essential Medicines for Children and the National Basic Medical Insurance, workplace Injury Insurance and Birth Insurance Medicines (western part), to reveal the shortcomings of ours.Comparative Analysis:According to the longitudinal comparative among the1st, the2nd and the3rd WHO model list of essential medicines for children, to provide suggestion for the establishment of our country’s essential medicines list for children; According to the horizontal comparison between3rd WHO Model List of Essential Medicines for Children and the National Basic Medical Insurance, workplace Injury Insurance and Birth Insurance Medicines (western part), to provide reference for the establishment of the national basic medical insurance list for children; According to the comparative analysis of the supervision and management system of children’s medicines of China and America, to offer some suggestions for the establishment and perfection of the supervision and management system of children’s medicines.Examples Analysis:According to the study of the labeling of American CHILDREN’S ADVIL (ibuprofen) suspension, to reveal the general characteristics of non-prescription drug labels and instructions in America, and to provide some suggestion and recommendations for the supervision of the description of children’s non-prescription in our country. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS:We China should draw the criteria and methods from the development of WHO model list of essential medicines for children, to accelerate the enactment and development of the suitable essential medicines list and the basic medical insurance medicine list that meet the clinical demands. China should draw lessons from the FDA, establish and perfect the children’s medicines clinical trials supervision system to escort for the children’s medication safety.
