Objective The pupose of this study is to compare the postoperative analgesia of different opioids in brachial plexus block.Method The study was selected40patients participating ASA grade1or2at random who were undergoing upper limb operation. They were randomly allocated to four groups:the control group(group S),which was given2ml NS in30ml0.375%ropivacaine,and groupM,B and D,which were given either morphine4mg,butorphanol1mg, dezocine5mg in30ml0.375%ropivacaine.20ml of the mixture was injected into intermuscular approach and12ml of the mixture was injected into axillary approach.Doctor assessed analgesia after4hours,8hours,12hours,24hours and48hours using a visual analogue scale, granded from o to10and recorded the side-effects and satisfactory of each group. Results At the same time, the VAS was significantly lower in group M,B and D,which were given an opioid, than in the control group. The side-effects of group S,B and D were significantly lower than that of group M,the satisfactory of group B and D were significantly higher than that in group S and D. Conclusion These results demonstrate that the addition of opioids to a mixture of ropivacaine in brachial plexus block strengthens the effect of postoperative anagesia. Some of the usual adverse side-effects of opioids may be observed, but they are more mild with butorphanol or dezocine than with morphine.
