Objective To investigate the association of the apolipoprotein B(ApoB) gene -516 C/T polymorphisms with breast cancer in Chinese female population. Methods ApoB -516C/T polymorphisms was genotyped by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restriction fragment-length polymorphism (RFLP) in 200 breast cancer patients and 200 controls, the contrastive analysis and the relevant analysis of genotype and allele distribution was performed, and DNA sequencing of genome were confirmed. Results The frequency of CC and CT genotype in breast cancer group and controls were 78%,22%,91.5%,8.5%, respectively. The frequency of C and T allele in breast cancer group and controls were 89%,11%,95.75%,4.25%, respectively. Significant differences were found between -516C/T polymorphism and breast cancer. The odds ratio of T allele carriers for breast cancer was increased than that of non carriers (OR=3.036; 95%CI=1.668-5.527).Conclusions The ApoB gene -516C/T polymorphism is associated with the incidence and the prognosis of breast cancer in Chinese female population. |
