Background of theoryChina’s epidemiological investigation shows:people who get dyspepsia symptoms reached18.9%in the general population. The morbidity rate is increased with age. The patients with dyspepsia symptoms come for treatment reached11.05%in the general medicine clinic. This takes more than half of the total outpatient in gastrointestinal clinic. Among them, about20.17%of the patients are diagnosed as functional dyspepsia. The Rome III pointed out that functional dyspepsia (functional dyspepsia, FD) is:a symptom or a group of symptoms that comes from gastrointestinal region. The specific symptoms including:postprandial fullness, early satiety, abdominal pain or epigastric burning sensation. It can be divided into postprandial distress syndrome and epigastric pain syndrome. In traditional Chinese medicine, FD can be attributed to "ruffian card","noisy" and "poor appetite, epigastric pain" and other areas according to its clinical symptoms.ObjectivesWe want to find out the law of TCM constitution in FD, through the investigation in FD patients. Then make comparison with healthy people. At last, we would like to provide ways for preventing disease and nursing ourselves according to this.MethodsThe case group has150patients. They came from gastroscopy room, inpatient and outpatient treatment in Guangdong Province hospital of TCM from April2011to March2012. They were all diagnosed as FD and met the criterions. The control group has150patients. The people came from treating disease center in Guangdong Province hospital of TCM.After the collection of case group, they were divided into groups according to age. The control group would be made matches with case group. Then we collected the data of control group from the computer. The methods of identification these two groups were according to "the criterion of classification in constitution of TCM" which published in April2009. The information would be input onto the SPSS database. The measurement data would be used t test and the count data would be used the X2test.ResultThere are150FD patients in the case group.64%of them are female and36%are male. Of all the ages,20to30years take the highest morbidity rate, is36.7%.31to40years followed by23.3%. The morbidity rate is decrease with age.The balance constitution in case group and control group were12.7%and16%. The partial constitutions and complex constitutions take high proportion in both groups. Yang deficiency, Qi deficiency, Qi Yu quality and blood stasis take majority parts in case group. The promotion of Yang deficiency in case group is significantly higher than the control group.ConclusionThis research shows:the young and middle-aged got a high incidence in FD. The female take a higher incidence than male. The partial constitutions and complex constitutions take high proportion in both groups. FD patients got a higher promotion in Yang deficiency, Qi Yu quality and blood stasis than the healthy people. This may have some relations to dietary, lifestyle and emotions. With the constitution of TCM theory and clinic investigation, we can take a simple way for preventing disease, treating disease and recuperating disease.
