Clinical Effect Of Spine-massage Method On Treating Functional Dyspepsia

Objective:Clinical effect of spine-massage method on treating functional dyspepsia (FD) was observed, which supply the clinical evidence that FD is a kind of no side effect and long-standing result intervention.Methods:1.30patients with FD in Tuina outpatient department of first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of CM and Guangdong second provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital or in inpatient department of gastroenterology of Guangdong second provincial TCM hospital were treated with FD3times per week,4weeks as1course. Clinical effect before and after treatment were observed respectively by using clinical symptomatic grading and quantifying standards and SF-36quality of life scale, and the data were analyzed by SPSS13.0to draw the conclusions.2. Compared with some researches of literatures about acupuncture&moxibustion on FD in recent twenty years, clinical effective rate and deficiency of research design in previous studies were summarized to supply the literature basis for the scientific nature of this research.Results:1. Result of Clinical ResearchAfter treatment, the total response rate was90.00%, the cured and markedly effective rate was40.00%, and the change of scores in symptoms pre and post treatment presented as t=6.70, P<0.01. There was very significant difference in score of each single symptom between two groups.the change of scores in improvement of life quality pre and post treatment presented as t=6.51, P<0.01; except for emotional role P>0.05), there were significant difference in the scores of dimension.2. Results compared with literatureLiterature research shows, there are many deficiency of research design in the literatures about acupuncture&moxibustion on FD, such as homogeneity of research objects is not good, there are some defects of method design, description is not clear and so on, which will easily induce low quality of research and even clinical efficiency reliability. In this study, there were definite diagnosis, inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, generally accepted effectiveness evaluation standards, concrete intervention program were described in details, scientifically and reasonably statistical method was chosen, and highly reliable research results were obtained, which accurately reflects the clinical effectiveness of spine-massage method on FD.ConclusionFrom the clinical research, spine-massage method on FD has good clinical effects, can obviously improve the symptoms and the life quality of patients. Compared with the previous literatures, this research is well-designed and the total therapeutic effect is reliable. In summary, spine-massage method on FD is effective and worth popularizing.
