With the prevalence of special education, a growing number of developmentaldelayed children are diagnosed. They have little flexible action, language skills, socialcommunication ability and self-care skills. Developmental delay is due to lack of theability of brain integration. Sensory integration training can promote the development ofbrain integration, so there is an important significance to given sensory integrationtraining on developmental delayed children.The purposes of this study were: develop the developmental delay scale, Establishthe grade norm and discover the influence factors of developmental delay. And thenchoose ten students as experimental subject, use "quasi-experimental design" to explorethe effects of sensory integrated training. The results and findings of this study wereas follows:(1) Developmental delay scale has good liability and validity. And the normof the different grade children is quite representative in the locality and the circumjacentareas.(2) The results indicated that whole state of children development is in goodcondition. And the highest is language and social mood development, next is thecognitive ability, self-care skill development is the lowest.(3) The background of thechildren had a significant impact on their development. Girls, parents high educationlevel, senior class, only child, children of the city, high family income, main caregiversare mothers, which these children developed well.(4) The background of the childrenhave significant predictive power and influence on children development.(5) Sensoryintegration training has a significant effects on sensory integration and attention.(6)Sensory integration training has significant effects on Performance intelligence quotient,but have no significant effects on Verbal intelligence quotient and total intelligencequotient; meanwhile, the learning ability dimension of sensory integration hassignificant relationship with Verbal intelligence quotient. Analysis and discussion were made on the basis of these above outcomes, andsuggestions were offered for practical teaching and future research.
