Objectives:1. The objective is to investigate the general epidemiological characteristics and influence factors of Yugur male drinking behavior, in order to provide the theory basis for the prevention and control of drinking behavior.2. The research is to observe the association between genetic polymorphisms of ADH2and CYP4502E1with alcohol drinking of Yugur male, in order to provide the basis for clarifying the relation between drinking behavior and genetic characteristics.Methods:1. The respondents were633Yugur male randomly selected from3179healthy testing population at People Hospital in Sunan county, Gansu province. The rate of Yugur male drinking in different groups were investigated by Drinking Patterns and Healty Survey Questionnaire in General Population.2.318Yugur male were randomly chosen from633respondents. They were divided into five groups as non-drinking group, light drinking group, moderate drinking group, heavy drinking group and alcohol dependence group by Drinking Patterns and Healty Survey Questionnaire in General Population and Alcohol dependence on ADS diagnosis list. Blood samples of Yugur male in different alcohol drinking groups were collected. ADH2and CYP4502E1polymorphism of genotype were determined by the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).3. The rate of Yugur male drinking in different groups were taken by Chi-square test. The influence factors of alcohol drinking rate were taken by single factor and many factors of logistic analysis. The differences between CYP4502E1and ADH2allele and genotype frequencies were taken by Chi-square test.Results:1. The alcohol drinking rate of male in Yugur was89.14%. Some differences were statistically significant in distributions of alcohol drinking of male in Yugur such as education, marital satisfaction and smoking. Through single factor and multifactors were analysed, it was found that there were significantly statistical differences in association smoking which was an influencing factor in alcohol drinking behavior (P<0.05).2. The distribution of the allelic variants (allele*1and allele*2) in male alcohol drinking behaviour was:ADH259.70%and40.30%; CYP4502E189.31%and10.69%in Yugur, respectively. Besides, genetic polymorphisms in ADH2and CYP4502E1were associated with alcohol drinking of male in Yugur.Conclusions:1. Younger trend was presented in the Yugur male alcohol drinking behaviour.2. Smoking was an important influencing factor in alcohol drinking behavior, but it was not a risk factor.2. The easier mutation in ADH2and CYP4502E1genes, the more alcohol who were drinking.
