To investigate the incidence and influence factors of emotional disordersand cognitive dysfunction in acute phase of cerebral infarction. As well as toinvestigate the relationship between emotional disorders and cognitivedysfunction.159patients (135cases of them were got cerebral infarction for the firsttime,24cases were got recurrent cerebral infarction) who got cerebralinfarction within2weeks were enrolled as experimental group.52cases whoseage, gender and educational level match with the experimental group wereselected from non-cerebrovascular disease patients undergoing medicalexamination randomly were enrolled as controls. The cognitive function andemotional status were tested by Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE),Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)and Hamilton depressive scale(HAMD).Severity of stroke and activity of daily living were tested by National Institutesof Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)and Activity of Daily Living (ADL).There were81cases of the159cases who had cerebral infarction, hadcognitive impairment (51%),106cases had emotional disorders (66.7%).73cases had post-stroke comorbid anxiety and depression(PSCAD)(45.9%),29cases had simple anxiety(18.2%),4cases had simple depression(2.5%),68cases had possible anxiety(42.8%),32cases had mild anxiety(20.1%),1casehad moderate anxiety(0.6%),1case had severe anxiety(0.6%),68cases hadmild depression(42.8%),6cases had Moderate depression (3.8%),3cases hadMajor Depression(1.9%). Female, educational level, thalamus infarction,anxiety, activity of daily living descending were related to cognitivedysfunction. Female, educational level, old, cognitive impairment, Severity of stroke and activity of daily living were relating to emotional disorders. Inaddition, cognitive dysfunction, anxiety and daily life ability were correlated.Emotional disorders, stroke severity and activities of daily living werecorrelated. Besides, depression and anxiety were positively correlated.The incidence of emotional disorder and cognitive impairment are higherafter cerebral infarction. Many factors relate to emotional disorders andcognitive impairment. Emotional disorders and cognitive dysfunction influencewith each other obviously after cerebral infarction, and lower the life quality ofthe patients severely.
