To evaluate the treatment effects of transcatheter arterial chemoembolizationcombined with radiofrequeney ablation for primary hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods33lesiens of26patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma were treatedwith transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with radiofrequeney ablation from June,2009to June,2011. Summarizing the change of lesiens necrosis and blood AFP, to estimate the therapeutic efficacy. Results26cases were estimated according to modified Response Evaluation Criteria inSolid Tumours (mRECIST) criteria,24cases achieved complete response(CR) lately, 1case partial response(PR),1case progressive disease(PD) with multiple lung metastases.17cases with significantly increased blood AFP before treatment were decreased significantly after treatment,12cases in which dropped to normal.ConclusionsCombination of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization and radiofrequency ablation for primary hepatic carcinoma is effective. It is small cut, little pain, low frequency of complication, little risk, repeatability. It should be adopted preferentialiy for hepatocellular carcinoma radical treatment.
