Objective:To investigate the effect of early rehabilitation practice on thefunctional recovery of the elbow and the healing of the humeral extremityfractures treated with double plate. Methods: Date of10(7males and3females) patients underwent internalfixation with double plates treat the fracture of humeral extremity earlyrehabilitation from January2006to February2010in our hospital wereretrospectively analyzed. The minimum age for22years old, the maximumage for63years, mean age38years old.2cases of falling injury, trafficaccident violence damage4cases, skating fall4cases, all for closed fractures,1case of merger forearm fractures and feet nerve damage. This group ofpatients in hospital emergency operation within24hours,before the operationis a shooting the X-ray,in the surgery this double plate fixation,Postoperativeelbow joint rehabilitative practice started after24hours at once. Conventionalline parffinotherapy and ultrasonic every day,Physical therapy after30minutes start a group of elbow flexion and passive function practice, the firsttime the elbow flexion20times,add1time after day, every time function ofelbow flexion and practice each35-40times to the hospital, every time whenactivity flexion action gentle, elbow elastic resistance in scope;Joint activitiesafter practice ice therapy for20minutes.The strength of the recovery topractice in order to recover after30minutes local pain disappeared shallprevail. Before discharge of patients of the elbow range of activities detailedrecords, and photographed X-ray effective elbow function records state, at thesame time and X-ray comparison within24hours after the operation, ensurethe safety of early functional exercise. The day in hospital patients for17days, at least day in hospital for14days.The hospital to develop detailedrehabilitation training program, and the average monthly review once, andphotographed X-ray.Follow-up of6months after surgery, the elbow functioncondition of the parameters set the standard for the Jupiter evaluation.Oneelbow activities scope to passive activity for the parameters of thestandard.Take out time of not less than fixation after18months, the olderfixator take out time based on this extension. Results: Two weeks later, all patients’ elbow joint ranges of motion weregreater than or equal to90°;6months later, the estimation showed that allpatients’ elbow joint ranges of motion were reserved. The fineness rate was100%according to Jupiter’s index and the union of fracture was fine. Conclusion:If early rehabilitative practices have been performed to thepatients who has been fixed with double plates in the fractured humeralextremity, it will be fine to prevent elbow joint anchylosis,it will nothindrance union of fracture in the meanwhile.
