Heart failure caused by cardiomyopathy gets more and more attention in clinical practice. Restrictive cardiomyopathy is a relatively rare type of cardiomyopathy. In this paper, we report a cases of restrictive cardiomyopathy, discuss the characteristics of various types, diagnosis and treatment. Restrictive cardiomyopathy have different types. The most common type is due to cardiac amyloidosis; and endomyocardial disease is occasionally reported. To diagnosis, echocardiography, MRI and other imaging technology have their own characteristics, and made considerable progress this years. But the diagnostic gold standard is still biopsy. In the treatment, the main goal is to prevent heart failure and improve symptoms. Some cases require surgical intervention; heart transplantation is the ultimate choice. But even with heart transplant, the prognosis is still not optimistic.
