| Lobjective:On the base of the disk(The Encyclipaedia of Traditional Chinese Mesieine)and the contemporary literature databases, collecting, analyzing and summing up the interpretation of the herbal medicine and acupoint treatment about ALS(flaccidity diseases), it’s wished to provide some references and bases for treating ALS(flaccidity diseases)with Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture and moxibustion.2.MethodsSearch the ancient literatures about flaccidity diseases through the disk named "The Encyclipaedia of Traditional Chinese Mesieine", refer to the diagnostic studies of flaccidity diseases issued by State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in1994, throw off the literatures which are not accord with the diagnostic studies; Search the contemporary literatures which published officially in the domestic journals about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis of TCM through the China national knowledge infrastructure literature database, VIP database over the years. Collect the available herbal medicine and acupoints treatment and set up the databases according to the herbal medicine acupoints, stimulate methods, and the reinforcing and reducing methods,then analyze The statistical result by making use of the theory of TCM.3.Result3.1Chinese herbal medicine3.1.1Through the study of the ancient Chinese herbal medicine literatures,it shows that the pathogenesises of Atrophy disease in TCM include steeped hot and humid,lung heat,flaring up of stomach heat, insufficient of liver and kidney, deficiency of Blood,hyperactivity of fire due to yin deficiency,weakness of spleen and stomach,insufficient of Vitality,consumption of Eight extra meridians,external pathogens invade excessive,intermingled deficiency and excess. The location of the disease focus on the Zangfu-organs,at the same time,including the meridians and collaterals. Its closest organs are the kidney,spleen and stomach,liver,lung.The collection of the herbal prescriptions are mainly in the Ming and Qing dynasty,the prescriptions of the two dynasties account for89.13%in all of these.The commonest form of the drug in use is decoction, the second commonset form is pill. The tonic herbal medicine takes up the frist place of the field of using medicine to treatment the disase.At the same time,the using of heat-clearing drugs, drugs for dieresis and diffusing dampness,drugs for eliminating dampness and wind, drugs for relieving exterior syndrome,drugs for invigorating blood circulation is very common.The channel tropisms of the common use herbal medicine are due to kidney,liver,spleen,lung and stomach meridians.3.1.2Through the study of contemporary Chinese herbal medicine literatures on the TCM treatment of ALS,it reveals that the reports of clinical and individual case were very few before1990s.The literatures have increased gudually since1990s.Most of the increasing literatures are clinical reports.The number of cases reported is also more than that before. And there are random or semi-random clinical trial research.The diagnosis tends to standardization too.In the collecting literatures,the pathogenesises of correlation of five viscera about ALS include asthenia of liver,spleen and kidney, weakness of spleen and stomach. deficiency of both the spleen and kidney, endogenous liver wind, deficiency of Yin and Yang, consumption of Eight extra meridians, intermingled deficiency and excess. The location of the disease related to the Zangfu-organs focus on kidney,spleen and liver.Most of the collecting herbal prescriptions are changes of ancient prescriptions.The commonest form of the drugs in use is decoction.In the field of using herbal medicine to treat the disease,the tonic takes up the first place.At the same time,the using of drugs for invigorating blood circulation, heat-clearing drugs,drugs for calming liver to stop endogenous wind,drugs for relieving exterior syndrome.,drugs for eliminating dampness and wind is common.The channel tropisms of the common use herbal medicine are to liver,kidney,spleen,lung and stomach meridians.3.2Acupuncture and Moxibustion3.2.1Through the study of the ancient acupuncture and moxibustion literatures,it reveals that acupuncture and moxibustion is the most common stimulate methods. It also shows that the reinforcing methods is the most common methods of the reinforcing and reducing methods.the second is reducing methods. In this research,we find that KI7,BL59,GB39,ST36and LI11are the most common points;the Three Yang Meridians of Foot are the most common meridian among14meridians; The acupoints on the four limbs of the body.especially the lower limbs, are the most acupoints than any other parts of body; the Specific-acupoints are the most common sorts,which including of the Five streaming Points, the Source Points, the Connecting Points, the Lower Confluent Points, and the Crossing Points. What’s more.the Crossing Points are the most common acupoints among the used Specific-acupoints. 3.2.2Through the study of contemporary Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion medicine literatures on the TCM treatment of ALS, it shows that acupuncture is the most common stimulate methods. It also shows that the reinforcing methods is the most common methods of the reinforcing and reducing means. In this research,we find that ST36,LI11,LI4LI15,BL23and DU14are the most common points. The most common meridian among14meridians are Yang Ming Meridians of Foot,Yang Ming Meridians of Hand,and Tai Yang Meridians of Foot.The acupoints on the four limbs of the body,especially the lower limbs, are the most acupoints than any other parts of body;the Specific-acupoints are the most common sorts,which including of the Five streaming Points,the Source Points, the Connecting Points,the Lower Confluent Points, and the Crossing Points. What’s more,the Crossing Points are the most common acupoints among the used Specific-acupoints.4.Conclusion4.1Chinese herbal medicine4.1.1For primary symptom of Atrophy disease4.1.1.1Mainly chosen the herbal medicine of strengthen the qi and yang of spleen and kidney as Radix et Rhizoma,Radix Ginseng.Rhizoma Atractylodes Macrocephala, Eucommia ulmoides Oliv, Cistanche Deserticola can be chosen.and the tonifying blood herbal medicines and nourish yin as Radix Rehmanniae time, Angelica sinensis,Radix Liriopes,Radix paeoniae alba should be.Cooperate to apply drugs for clearing heat such as Corter Phellodendri,Anemarrhenae Asphodelodies,Radix Rehmanniae,Scutellaria Baicalensis,Coptis Chinensis,or medicine for dieresis and diffusing dampness.as Poria Cocos,Coix Seed.4.1.1.2For secondary symptom different from Atrophy diseaseBut also cooperate to apply drugs for calming liver to stop endogenous wind, such as scorpion, earthworm, Bombyx Batryticatus, centipede, gastrodin,or drugs for invigorating blood circulation as chuanxiong, hyssop, antirheumatic drugs such as Rhizoma cibotii, angelica, and diaphoretic as windproof, bupleurum, ginger, black cohosh, and so on.4.1.2Acupuncture and Moxibustion4.1.2.1For primary symptom of Atrophy diseaseGive priority to Yangming Stomach meridians of Foot.and pay attention to choose the acupoints of Taiyang Urinary Bladder meridian of Foot, Yangming Large Intestine meridian of Hand, Shaoyang Gallbladder meridian of Foot.
