The Accuracy Of Combination Of16Mult-islice Spiral Computer Tomography (MSCT) And Serum Amyloid A Protein (SAA) In Preoperative Staging Of Rectal Cancer

Objective To investigate the accuracy of combination of16mult-islice spiral computertomography (MSCT) and serum amyloid A protein (SAA) in preoperative staging of rectalcancer.Methods Prospectively enrolled100patients suffering from rectal cancer in Shan Xi Provincetumor hospital anus bowel surgery from April2011to December2011.The patients wererandomly distributed into two groups MSCT and SAA combined group:both MSCTand SAAwere used to do combinative staging preoperatively; MSCT group:only MSCT was used to doit.The accuracy of the preoperative T,N,M,and TNM staging were compared between the twogroups.Results total of80patients suffering from rectal cancer were enrolled in this study.There were35patients in MSCT and SAA combined group and45patients in MSCT group.The baselinecharacteristics was comparable between the two groups.For MSCT and SAA combined group,the accuracies of preoperative staging of T,N,M and TNM was85.782.210082.9,respectively;and for MSCT group,the corresponding rates was82.264.410062.2,respectively.Statistical differences was found in the accuracy of preoperative N and TNMstaging between the two groups(P=0.0320.043,respectively).Conclusion Combinative staging of MSCT and SAA could enhance the accuracy of preoperative staging.
