Background and ObjectivesNeuroblastoma (NB) is the most common extracranial solid cancer in childlren and the most common cancer in infancy. It is a neuro endocrine tumor, arising from any neural crest element of the sympathetic nervous system or SNS. It most frequently originates in one of the adrenal glands, but can also develop in nerve tissues in the neck, chest, abdomen, or pelvis.Close to70percent of neuroblastoma cases occur in children younger than five years old. With the development of medical science and society, especially infectious diseases and nutritional diseases were controlled effectively, neoplastic disease is gradually a sort diseases of children. According to the epidemiology statistics, the annual incidence of neuroblastoma is about0.3~0.5/100,000. The first symptoms of neuroblastoma are often vague making diagnosis difficult. Neuroblastoma often spreads to other parts of the body before any symptoms are apparent.lt is often misdiagnosed.I analyze the clinical data of neuroblastoma, in order to improve diagnosis of this disease.Materials and Methods38patients diagnosed with neuroblastoma and hospitalized in the first affiliated hospital of Zhengzhou University from October2010to December2011were selected. These clinical data is analyzed by average, percentage.ResultsIn these patients, there are2cases in stage Ⅰ,3cases in stage Ⅱ,7cases in stage Ⅲ,24cases in stage Ⅳ and1case in stage Ⅳ~S. The age range is from15days to9years old. The average age is3.2years old. There are5cases who are younger than1year old and26cases who are between1to5years old. Of all the cases, abdomainal mass is14(36.8%),abdomainal pain and distension is7(18.4%), the long-time fever of unknown origin is10(26.3%), bone pain is5(13.2%),neck mass is5(13.2%),malignant exophthalmos is3(7.9%),pallor from anemia is1(2.6%),jaws the mass is1(2.6%), intralcular foreign body is1intralcular foreign body. All the cases are founded mass by the examination of Colour Doppler Ultrasound or CT and4cases are founded dissemination of tumor to brain by MRI.The postive rate of NSE is65.8%,that of LDH is51.4%.9cases receive surgery and8cases profit from the treatment.27cases give up treatment.ConclusionsThe first symptoms of neuroblastoma are often vague making diagnosis difficult. Neuroblastoma often spreads to other parts of the body before any symptoms are apparent. Most of NB cases present with metastases. So pediatrician should pay attention to NB and diagnose without delay in order to receive the effective treatment.
