OBJECTIVE through the retrospective analysis of clinical characyeristics and related factors, aim to explore the Epidemiological relationship between type2diabetes mellitus, Drug treatment of diabetes and lung cancer,to provide help for For patients with diabetes prevention, early detection and early treatment of lung cancerMethods clinical date of characteristics, laboratory findings, treatment of96hospitalized patients (cancer group)diagnosed of T2DM with lung cancer,240hospitalized patients(control group) diagnosed of T2DM from January2005to October2010in first affiliated hospital of guangxi medical university were collected and retrospectively analyzed, controls were unaffected by cancer, who were matched with the corresponding case for age, sex, ethnic. Results the study showed:1age of diagnosed diabetes was60.14±9.36years in cancer group and56.86±10.33years in control group patients(P=0.007).Compared with patients with a diabetes duration of<2 years, the ORs for those with a diabetes duration of2to5years and those with a diabetes duration>5years were1.7(95%CI0.9-3.1, P=0.073) and0.6(95%CI0.3-1.01,P=0.057).2the level of total cholesterol were4.14±2,28mmol/l in cancer group and4.77±1.72mmol/l in control group patients(P=0.01),Compared with patients with the level of total cholesterol4.3to5.2mmol/l,the ORs for those with the level of total cholesterol<4.3mmmol/l and>5.2mmol/l were1.1(95%CI0.6-2.1,p=0.804) and0.4(95%CI0.2-0.8,p=0.015).3Single factor logistic regression analysis indicated that duration of diabetes, age of diagnosed diabetes, total cholesterol, drinking, family history of diabetes, Drug treatment of diabetes were significantly correlated with lung cancer.age of diagnosed diabetes, family history of diabetes, Sulfonylurea, Metformin, Insulin enterd the multifactor non-conditional Logistic regression model and the OR values were1.04(P=0.016),0.175(P=0.032),2.704(P=0.005),0.273(P=0.002),0.210(P=0.007).Conclusion1Diabetes appears to increase the risk is correlated with the old age of diagnosed diabetes and the duration diabetes2to5years.2In type2diabetes,there was interation low total cholesterol with increased lung cancer risks.3Exposure to metformin was associated with a significant protective effect in the risk of lung cancer.
