The Effects Of Rhizoma Drynariae On Interleukin-2and T-lymphocyte Levels In Rats After Severe Head Injury Or On Apoptosis And Expression Of Casepase-3

Objective:To investigate the effects of Rhizoma Drynariae on the levels of interleukin-2(IL-2)、T-lymphocyte subset in rats with severe head injury (SHI) and on apoptosis and expressions of casepase-3.Method:72Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into3groups:control group, model group, and Rhizoma Drynariae group. The experimental group received intragastrical infusions of with aqeous Rhizoma Drynariae extract four hours after SHI while the other groups were administered with equivalent volumes of physiological saline. Infusions were administered to the3groups once a day for7days. IL-2、T lymphocyte (CD3、CD、CD8) levels、TUNEL and Immunohistochemistry were used to detect expression of apoptosis and casepase-3were measured at24,72, and168hours after initial infusion.Result:The levels of IL-2and CD4T cells reduced obviously after24hours in the model group (P<0.05), but recovered to the levels of the control group after72hours, and remained elevated after168hours. In the Rhizoma Drynariae group, IL-2and CD4levels were did not decrease while the level of CD8T cells was reduced significantly (P<0.05). There is remarkably apoptosis in rats with severe head injury (SHI) and remained elevated after168hours,and reach the peak in24hours,and remaind reduced after that moment.. The expressions of casepase-3elevated remarkably after24hours,and remaind after168hours,but there is no change in the three time.Conclution:Rhizoma Drynariae can protect against immune dysfunction or improve immunity in rats with severe head injury (SHI). Rhizoma Drynariae can protect against apoptosis in rats with severe head injury (SHI)in injuried early. May be related to the effects related to it can against the levels of IL-2reduced.
