Objective:1. To develop and assess the Health Education Evaluation Criterion for guardiansof children with Cleft Lip and/or Palate in the Perioperative Period.2. By clinical empirical study,this thesis is to describe the current situation ofhealth education for guardians of children with cleft lip and/or palate duringperioperative period and explore its influential factors and weaknesses in healtheducation.3. To estabilsh a nursing intervention model by method of progressive increasingadvantage contents,thus improve and perfect cleft lip and/or palate children nursinghealth eduacation system,regulate health education norms,and improve the practicaleffects.Methods:This research included three parts.PartⅠ:Establish the assessment criterion ofhealth education for guardians of cleft lip and/or palate children in the perioperativeperiod and verify the clinical evaluation norms’ reliability and validity.PartⅡ:Clinical empirical study. PartⅢ: Carry out health education nursing intervention.Results:1. The Health Education Evaluation Criterion for guardians of children withCleft Lip and/or Palate in the Perioperative Period included six dimensions,twenty-four indicators, ninety-four indexes for cleft lip surgery, ninety-three indexesfor cleft palate surgery and attained satisfactory psychometric properties.2. The perioperative health education assessment sore of100guardians with cleftlip and/or palate children was in the middle level. The guardian’s preoperative StateAnxiety Inventory scored significantly higher than normal populations.The Nurse Parent Support Tool score was in the middle level.The guardians’ age,parent childrelationship,educational level,habitation and cheilopalatognathus surgery times arecritical effect factors for perioperative health education.There are weaknesses inguardians’ perioperative knowledge and practice.3. Adhere to the perioerative period health education pathway for cleft lip and/orpalate children’s guardians, nursing health education interventions with progressiveincreasing of advantage contents could improve health education effects,eased theparents’ preoperative anxiety,and promoted nursing supportive degree for guardians.Conclusions:1. The Health Education Evaluation Criterion for guardians of children withCleft lip and/or Palate in the Perioperative Period had comprehensive content,reasonable structure and ideal internal consistency. It is a scientific, practical, feasibleclinical evaluation instrument.2. The empirical research results not only helped nurses effectively identify theguardians’ humanity background and children’s cheilopalatognathus surgeryexperience are key indicators of perioperative health education effects,found out theweaknesses in guardians’ perioperative knowledge and practice, regulated nursingbehavior, but also provided judgements of nursing health education quality control.3. Abided by the instruction of the Health Education Evaluation Criterion forguardians with Cleft Lip and/or Palate children in the Perioperative Period,nursinghealth education interventions by means of progressive increasing advantage contentswere effective and practical,which could be adapted to popularized clinicalapplication.
