Objective: To compare the clinical outcome of fixed-bearing and mobile-bearing total knee arthroplasty(TKA)for knee osteoarthritis. Methods: From January2004to June2011,85cases (93knees) of kneejoint osteoarthritis were treated by TKA,they were randomly assigned to re-ceived fixed-bearing knee(44patients with47knees) and the mobile-bearingknee(41pati-ents with46knees).The flex degrees of the knee and HSSscores were mea-sured and compared before and after operative treated. Results: HSS knee scores and the flex degrees between fixed-bearinggroup and mobile-bearing group were not statistical different before TKA(P>0.05); and it was also not statistical different (P>0.05) at follow-up7to72months (average,29months).Conclusion: Good and excellent outcomes can be achieved in knee jointosteoarthritis treated with TKA inspite of using the fixed-bearing prosthesis ormobile-bearing prosthesis.
